Innocent Awasom is Associate Librarian and STEM Team Lead at Texas Tech University Libraries in Lubbock, with Liaison responsibilities to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR), the departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry and the International Center for Arid and Semi Arid land Studies (ICASALS). He holds graduate degrees in Information Sciences from the African Regional Center for Information Science (ARCIS) as well as in the Zoology (Hydrobiology & Fisheries) from the University of Ibadan. He was the University Librarian and lecturer of Library and Information Sciences at the University of Ngaoundere, Cameroon before relocating to the USA for further studies. His over 2 decades of professional librarianship has taken him to Nigeria, Cameroon Kenya and the USA. His research interests are in the areas of International Librarianship, Information literacy and Diversity issues, scholarly communications, Research Metrics, use of ICT’s, access to and use of information and library resources. He has been a Director-at-large of the Africa Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), Convenor of the 2020 United States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN) Biannual Conference, PRO and international Liaison of the Cameroon Bioscience Society and current President of the Texas Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (SLA).
